eBay fixes

A few weeks ago, we noticed that the number of crashes were increasing quite a bit and tracked it down to some issues with eBay. We had some contacts over there and they were very quick and diligent at tracking down the issue on their site.

They've just updated their site and things are looking much better already. We'll be working internally to fix the issues that were the root cause for the next update, but I just wanted to give a shout out to the folks at eBay for being on the ball and rocking the fix.

I am grateful that this is finally fixed, it only took two months. The fact that the crashes began happening the instant we got our upgrade in December does not absolve MSN from having opened the door to this problem.

In the end, a few things had to go wrong for this to happen and they all went wrong.

1. There is a bug on IE (even on the PC) that was causing things to go bad on ebay before ebay fixed things

2. Since MSN TV 2 uses IE, we had the bug too.

eBay's code just happened to "trigger" the bad stuff, but neither eBay nor the IE team noticed until MSN TV users started having issues with eBay.

In the end, there is a bug that all teams are working to fix.
