Compatible USB Wireless 802.11G adapters
UDPATE (2006-09-01) Be careful when buying these online since you're not sure of the revision number. The revision numbers need to be exact! I recommend taking a look at wireless bridges since they work off the ethernet port on the back of the box which pretty much guarantees they all work. more info on this
Or just pick this one up since I've tested that you can set this up directly from the box without a PC and that it works great.
ORIGINAL (2005-12-31)
These are also supported, however, only certain revision numbers are supported for each:
DWL-G120 Rev B1 and B2 are supported.
DWL-G122 Rev A1 and A2 are supported
I highly recommend ordering the Netgear WG111 above since it is safe that this one is the correct one. DLink has released updates to their hardware that are not compatible with MSNTV2 and ordering them online may result in you receiving one that is not compatible.

Comment of John G.:
This info needs expanded. I bought a DWL-G122 and guess what? It doesn't work with MSNTV2.
Furthermore, how can I be assured that I am buying a specific version of any piece of technology? Why is it my burden to buy the proper version of hardware to work with your product? Doesn't WinCE support USB 2.0? Can't you provide firmware updates that support these "supported" products?
Comment of Tommy:
I've just updated the info. With wireless USB drivers, there are several chipset manufacturers which each require different drivers. MSNTV2 has built in support for the several that are most popular. If a wireless USB device maker decides to update their chipset to one that is not compatible with MSNTV2, that's their perrogative. Specific revision number compatibility is a reality that device manufacturers and consumers just have to live with until the USB wireless vendors settle on a standardized chipset like hardrive, USB card readers, and USB flash key makers have done. Just check the wireless compatibility list for Tivo...it has similar complexity and is up to the consumer to find the proper device.
Comment of donkeyhotee:
The fact that msntv2 can't give it's users a precise list of which routers and adapters are compatible with their product is just piss-poor customer service. That doesn't surprise me. Other issues in the past have shown similar "non-caring" by MSNTV2. The more likely scenario is that MSNTV2 is NOT ABLE to provide the information because they don't have the technical expertise to support it. They are really a very lame company.
Comment of Mary Ann:
I just purchased a WG111 wireless G adapter thru your link and amazon.. will this work with msntv2 and does it matter what the serial # is
Comment of the meister:
i see that more & more users are slowly beginning to realize that once they buy a webtv product, they are considered either guinea pigs( loading mail?) then 55 spams & 6 true msgs) for behind the scenes tomfoolery or lepers. you say we have flash 7 .i still get shut out of sites saying i dont. also adobe reader at the level you have it is like not having it at all.pdf is supposedly supported .but i get sorry this is not supported sometimes when i go there. the music which you are charging us for goes on & off at its own volition. videos that you want us to see are the only ones we get. otherwise the unit shuts off. something you assured us of would never occur after your pseudo upgrade. im glad im not the only one who knows the score .only have to go back to your ignomineous treatment of + users. i get video alerts from YOU .when i attempt to see it ,i just get the video page sans the video i requested to see. i could go on & on. after all this time you still dont have a stable up to date functioning unit. nice to hear some detrimental feedback from others for a change . the meister

WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME
Comment of me:
do you need a driver for this adaptor if it's going on the msntv2, or will it work without it....thank you
Comment of Phil:
I don't recommend anyone getting the "Buffalo Technology AirStation Turbo Converter" because it's even slower than dial-up, it was "100 kbps" when I checked. It takes pages longer to load up and download, sometimes it won't download at all... not to mention all the error messages I received.
This person recommended it so I purchased it and now it's giving me hell.
Comment of Mike:
Unfortunately, my Mom is running WEP just for legacy compatibility with MSN TV 2. Does anyone know of a good USB wifi dongle that is supported by MSN TV and is also capable of WPA? The buffalo bridges are nice but almost as pricey as running cable. Also are their any other good sites b=where users report their trial-and-error experiences with unofficially supported hardware?
